I went there for the first time with my husband, kids and sister and we all loved it and came back the next summer. There is a really big pool and a lovely beach too.
Great holiday park situated just by the beautiful west coast of Scotland. The static caravans available to rent and always of a high quality and offer all the facilities you need. The range of activities is good and surely offers entertainment but tends to be quite expensive, especially if you do multiple. Comparing to the likes of Centre Parcs, the swimming pool opening times are poor, only opening 7 or so hours a day, which eliminates the experience of going swimming in the evening.
My piece of heaven.. My caravan is there. It is available for rent during the season. It has 3 bedrooms and a sea view. Craig Tara is getting millions of pounds spent on it for the next season. Craig Tara will be one of the best Parks in Britain next year.
We are regular visitors. Kids love it. Pool and activities are great. Staff are very patient with the kids. Accommodation is usually good, but when it's busy and it goes wrong there is not much leeway to swap so you are stuck with it That said we have had one major accommodation issue in about 10 visits. Almost didn't try Craig Tara due to the number of bad reviews and I'm very glad we did.
Thought a would book a extra treat this year for the family, since Craig Tara had been highly recommended to us. Booked a 3 night stay Frid-Monday. On arrival, had to visit the ladies room before check in and it was like a swimming pool, check in was short n sweet. When we eventually found our caravan, the door was unlocked and the kitchen window opened. The caravan itself wasn't very clean, food stains on the blinds, cutlery was dirty and some utensils missing. Holes on the couches, The caravan itself was freezing even tho I had the heating on full for my 2 young grandsons. Had to get up early to put the fire on in the sitting area for it to be warm for them getting up from bed. One of the toilets was blocked on Saturday afternoon so reported it and got told would get someone round. No one appeared, reported it again on the Sunday again got told the same thing and no one appeared. We cut our holiday short, as it was to cold wasn't complaining again. The entertainment was fab, but on the downside my daughter went to buy some popcorn from the bar got asked her age which she's 16 and got told no u need to be 18, which a think is totally ridiculous. After the experience I have had at Craig Tara, it's giving me second thoughts on returning again. We have stayed at a few caravan parks recently, and have to say this has been the worst caravan home we have stayed in yet.
