From our first contact to last, Lorraine was with us every step of the way when my mum passed away. The colleagues who came to our house for mum were respectful to her and to us in our grief. Lorraine was a people person who cared, and gave us confidence that she was taking care of all details but also looking after us and mum. Before the funeral, Lorraine phoned my dad to check on him as my sister and I live away from home and when it came to the day itself, she looked after my distraught 8 year old daughter whilst we were speaking to friends and relatives after the service. Cannot rate them highly enough. Thank you Lorraine and your team.
When we lost our older brother and my parents their eldest son tragically 2 and a half years ago, we were in total shock, heartbroken and distraught. We had never lost a loved one before and didnt know the 1st thing about arranging a funeral let alone my brothers. Until my neighbour Lorraine Morton stepped in. She personally visited my parents and I at my parents house and went over all the arrangements. She made my grieving parents, whom are elderly, feel so much at ease at a very sad heartbreaking time. Lorraine was brilliant and very professional. She made sure my brother got a great send off. We dont know how we would have managed without her. My parents and I cant thank Lorraine enough. She is an angel and she will never be forgotten. I would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone and guartentee a second to none service.
Unfortunately we did not have the best experience with ML Williams when my mother in law passed away.We found the manner of certain staff not the best at times, a bit rude and unprofessional. We had to keep chasing them up for updates on things such as the order of service when I didn't get a reply. The deadline was missed and I was worried that the orders of service wouldn't arrive on time. Stress I didn't need when grieving.Other little things such as not receiving a courtesy call the night before, or having to take CDs in to the Crematorium ourselves beforehand were also not ideal.The only saving grace was that the day itself went without any issues.After the funeral, things did not improve. We waited a month, then chased them again as to when I could collect the ashes and pick up her belongings. I was then advised that her belongings had been disposed of without our permission. At this point I wrote a letter and I have to say the response was unsatisfactory. I received a written apology and the offer of a complimentary teddy bear, which we declined. I was assured that future clients would not have this experience however I would strongly urge you to choose a different funeral director. It's not worth the stress and hassle.
