Never well stocked. Staff not very helpful. Good selection when they actually have the stock

I've been meaning to write a review for a while, but after today's visit I feel like I should do one.I adopted a rabbit from Ayr's Pets At Home some months ago, on the night in question I was informed by staff if I wanted to purchase any babies from their main pen I would have to buy two at 45 each, because they deem it more beneficial for the animals to be sold in pairs. 90 was too steep & a double expense, I declined. Luckily I found a lovely older one in their adoption cage which I purchased for 30, chipped & with a free vaccine package. But today while in buying rabbit supplies , a couple appear wanting to buy a baby rabbit from their main pen. I felt the need to inform them they have a pairing policy & that they'd possibly not sell just one. .. only for a member of staff to appear & offer them ONE baby. They now have signs stating they only sell in pairs (there was no sign months ago).. but what I don't understand is, why are some of their staff saying one thing & certain others doing something else? Today there seemed to be different staff on, which maybe explained some things. But it seems a completely unfair policy if they can't stick to it. I took this up with staff at the checkout only for the woman to say "it's a grey area" & that she'd be taking it up with the manager. I still don't know what the grey area meant. They didn't seem to know what was going on. And what makes it even worse is, one of the baby rabbits I wanted to purchase months ago is still there, with its mate, moved to the adoption cage. Months on & nobody has bought them, now three months older. I can only presume it is because they struggled selling them as a pair, at 90. And considering the one they sold the couple was older than the one I previously wanted to buy, wouldn't that mean it was more bonded with the other in its pen? It is contradictory! It's really not their pairing policy that is a issue here, it is about whether they stick to it. Why are some staff contradicting each other? It is not just unfair for customers, it is unfair on the animals themselves, they've lost potential homes because their staff are telling us opposite things & repelling customers! I don't know how many people have declined buying their pairs, with those grown babies ending up in the adoption cage for a reduced fee, but I'm sure I am not the only one this has happened to! Here's hoping they either scrap the pairing policy or actually stick to it!
Amazing as you can bring any pet inside with you which is a bonus, you can try things on the pet eg jacket on there is food, toys, collar and lead, live animals etc. Staff are great each time I'm in I take my & you can help yourself to treats. Allison Street Ayr is the one to go to.
Staff were so helpful and friendly. Giving me advice on feeding as my pup doesn't seem to be eating enough. Also giving cuddles - to the pup - while I downloaded the app to my phone. Fab service by knowledgeable staff
