Nice place, friendly staff, good breakfast and comfortable beds. Parking cam be tricky though. I'd recommend this place.
Went here for a overnight stay it was absolutely amazing room was spotless bathroom was spotless we were made welcome from the moment we stepped through the door we ordered the full English breakfast it was gorgeous everything cooked to perfection if your ever in Ayr for overnight stay or long stay please consider this place you will not be disappointed I give this place ten out ten top marks

It took me a little longer after my trip in the beginning of April to sit down, because I wanted to take the time to make it right for the great experience. Now I just try sum up how my ten days have been at Lorraine, Roy, Sarah and Justin's place.If you arrive by train, the station is literally a few streets away; if you arrive by car, there are always parking places in this quiet street of one of the nicest areas of Ayr. Quiet that is except for the seagulls sometimes - but I don't want to waste too many words on them; only to say that I now have a very strong opinion about seagulls and that I wish they would rather learn to sing like a well-behaving bird does instead of that noise that they can make at dawn. The house that the family of Lorraine tastefully decorated and plan to redesign room by room to an even higher standard, is really like a mini hotel. I've been to many places in the world, x-star hotels, many company trips, and this AirBnB really achieves what it aims to do: highest standard in its category.My room already had the new design and was a second home away from Home. What I would highlight in the room: 1. hotel quality bedsheets and top hotel quality towels (so amazingly soft) 2. a tray next to the door that had more on it than most hotels do: shortbread, tea, nescafe, water boiler, candies, hot chocolate powder, milk packets for coffee/hot chocolate - an absolute feast for a morning or evening snack 3. if you forgot anything Home like I forgot my slippers, the family provides it (sealed pack like in hotels) 4. TV had DVD slot in it and there is a DVD collection in the hallway in the cupboard, and a good selection of programmes5. good quality bathroom (like I mentioned, just renovated)The room is done every day, the towels changed to fresh ones - this is a consistent high quality service adding to the already good impression.Now for the breakfast: you will get round even if you walk a couple of hours every day - hmm ok, it may be just me, but you really won't get hungry until later lunch time with the portions Justin makes.You can choose your next breakfast every single evening - awesome service, ain't it -, like: porridge with double cream, haddock with poached eggs, just any kind of eggs (these are not some supermarkt eggs, but farmer's ones) scrambled or scrambled with salmon. I went for porridge and eggs and the cafetiere coffee which was very tasty (I didn't think before that they could taste so good). After a week's "training" I went for the Full Scottish Breakfast on my last morning and managed almost all - this is a celebration of the Scottish Breakfast, nothing near the sad little black puddings and teeny tomatoes you see in places where they don't care so much. So if you want to experience the real national breakfast, this is your opportunity to do so.Plus, on the table at the window in the dining room you can find orange juice, apple juice, yoghurts, cornflake boxes and a bowl of fresh fruits every day for breakfast.If you are hungry at lunch time or dinner time, you can ask for some simple meals (I ate cream soup) - the menu is in the dining room area downstairs with an open bar and fireplace.All in all you shouldn't starve while you are here. If you like some snacks of your own choice - like I do -, you can walk over to Morrisons (near the station) in 10 minutes and get what you like.The sea shore is also about 10 minutes away (nope, I didn't walk around in circles - just that everything was nearby). There's the Ayrshire coastal path from which I really only walked the Ayr beach front. Really great scenery with so many types of birds and views on the next village, Doonfoot.I am very happy looking back, that I chose to stay at The Crescent. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a great accomodation with fantastic meals, quality service, in a good location and with very friendly hosts. I'm sure more could be said, but I think the best is if everyone sees for themselves and truly enjoys this experience in Ayr.Thank you Lorraine, Sarah, Roy and Justin!
